Testimony – How I Became a Christian

I started going to church when I was 4 and LOVED every second of it. I loved Jesus! I couldn’t wait to be baptized and let Jesus be the leader in my life. I begged my parents to let me get baptized. I read the Bible cover to cover and while I didn’t understand it all I learned a lot. One night when I was 8 years old I kept bugging my parents and they asked me a bunch of questions and the next morning we went down to the lake and I was baptized.

Becoming a Christian at such a young age and growing up in the church posed its own challenges and as a college student I stopped attending church. I didn’t stop believing in God or anything but I was not living my life according to Christ’s will. I thought that I could be in charge. This led to some tough life lessons and when my husband and I were expecting our first child we realized that we really needed God to be in charge. He was baptized and we started attending church again and then just threw all of our free time into children‘s ministry and volunteering at the church.
