Haiti Mission Trip

The Kalkaska Church of Christ will be taking two teams down to Haiti in February 2018. We’ll be visiting two missions the church currently supports – H.O.P.E. Mission and Sonlight Ministries. This trip is for adults 18 or older (younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). The trip to Sonlight plans to leave Kalkaska on Friday, February 1st and returning Sunday, February 10th with a week spent in Haiti. The HOPE trip is looking for the best airfare prices before settling on a fixed date. A passport is required.

In the months leading up to the trip, your group will be meeting at the church for language class and culture lessons.

Costs

HOPE Mission (Badgeros) = $160 + Airfare
Sonlight Ministries = $700 + Airfare

Both costs are inclusive of room, board, and in-country travel.

A $200 down payment is due Thursday, November 1, 2018 to hold your spot. The remainder is due by Thursday, January 31, 2019. You can drop off a check in the church office (open weekdays from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm) or pay online with plastic here.

H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Prepare for Eternity)

Sara Blasko, our children’s minister & former MK (missionary kid), will be leading this team to Passe Reine in Haiti. You will be flying out of Detroit or Chicago to Miami along with the team to Sonlight. After an overnight stay in Miami, you’ll fly into Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. You’ll travel via land to HOPE Mission in Passe, Reine.

You’ll be living in the HOPE mission house along with Jeff & Carol Badgero and your team. Cost for this trip is estimated at $750.00.

Sonlight Ministries

Tim Severance, former missionary to Haiti for 12 years, will be leading this team up to Port-de-Paix, Haiti. You’ll be flying out of Detroit or Chicago on Friday, February 1 into Miami, Florida where you’ll spend one night. The next morning a flight into Haiti will take you to Port-au-Prince where you’ll take a charter airline up to Sonlight in Port-de-Paix.

You’ll be staying the week at Holiday Beach hotel. The approximate cost for this trip is $1,400
