CIY Believe

Two weeks ago a group of Middle School students and adults from KCC traveled down to Hope College in Holland, MI for the CIY Believe conference. This is a 24 hour conference jam-packed with singing praises to God led by a high energy worship band, sermons by Kurt Johnston, the youth minister at Saddleback Church, and author of many books on youth ministry, and illusions mixed with Biblical truths performed by Brock Gill. These people have been preparing all year for this one weekend that they take across the country to multiple locations and thousands of young people.

Our group had a great time together singing, laughing, thinking, praying, and spending time together. I was so glad to be accompanied by a wonderful group of adults including Jon Vande Kopple, Matthew Olds, Jeremy Guggemos, and Kristal Dorman. I would like to thank them for giving up their weekend to be amazing role models for our youth.
The message of the weekend was for us to reflect the light of Christ into the world and to always seek the light of truth in the word of God and not derive our ideas of truth from anywhere other than God. I now get to look forward to the high school conference that CIY puts on. That conference is called MOVE and is from June 26 until July 2. This year we will be traveling to Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee. Please be in prayer for our young people to hear and put into practice the truths that Christ has shown us.
